The Mosque of Nabi Daniel

The mosque is named after one of the pious people, Sheikh Mohamed Daniel Al Mosley, one of the sheikhs belonging to the Shafie School (one of the four credited schools in teaching the faith of Islam). He arrived to Alexandria towards the end of the eighth century hijri where he settled and taught the basics of religion and the religious duties. He stayed in Alexandria till his death in 810 hijri where he was buried in the mosque. His tomb turned into a shrine and it is located on a street that carries the same name, the Nabi Daniel Street.
